On December 22, 2024, we at the Melody Factory hosted a magical Family Matinee at the Orchesterhaus Luzern – Südpol. The event was filled with festive cheer as we presented Sergei Prokofiev’s Cinderella and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, along with beloved Christmas carols.
The pianists, Pablo Rossi and Aleksandr Shaikin, enchanted the audience with a stunning performance of Prokofiev’s Cinderella on two pianos. This timeless ballet, first performed in 1945 at the Bolshoi Theatre, captivated everyone with its expressive melodies.
Adding to the holiday spirit, our Melody Factory Brass Quintet, comprising musicians from the Hochschule Luzern – Musik, performed Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and a selection of cherished Christmas carols. The ensemble included Mattia Klaus and Pietro Locati on trumpets, Mauro Garcia Florez on horn, Diogo Cunha on trombone, and Luís Leitão on tuba, with percussionist Alba Alegre joining for this special occasion.
